Bridges
Bridges are usually used to replace missing teeth. They replace the missing teeth and anchor onto the two neighbouring teeth of the gap. Replacing the missing tooth/teeth will prevent your remaining teeth from drifting, tipping, over-erupting and resulting in gum disease and decay.
The bridge is made up of two or more crowns (the anchors) on either side of the missing teeth, and false teeth in between. These are all attached to each other. Bridges are cemented on securely and not meant to be removed.
Bridges function like natural teeth but the setback is that the two adjacent teeth have to be prepared and reduced to size.
Here a bridge is mounted onto prepared teeth and cemented into position.
