Soft Tissue Laser
Soft tissue laser procedures that we offer are
- laser cutterage - removal of dead inner tissue from a gum pocket
- laser gingivectomy - a minor surgery to remove a small amount of gum tissue around a tooth
- laser frenectomy - the removal of a fold of tissue or muscle connecting the lips cheek or tongue to the jawbone
The advantage to using the laser surgery is that there is no bleeding, it is less invasive with minimal discomfort and heals faster. Laser surgeries are as effective as traditional surgeries performed with a scalpel. In addition, laser sterilizes the gum tissue as it travels.
These pictures show deep decay on a molar. The treatment involved a laser gingivectomy followed by a white filling.
The following case is a little boy who had a laser frenectomy to help him reduce the diastema (gap) between his teeth.
